The Apple I was Steven Wozniak's first contribution to the personal computer field. It was designed over a period of years, and was only built in printed circuit-board form when Steve Jobs insisted it could be sold. It debuted in April 1976 at the Homebrew Computer Club in Palo Alto, but few took it seriously. The Apple I was based on the MOStek 6502 chip, whereas most other "kit" computers were built from the Intel 8080. The Apple I was sold through several small retailers, and included only the circuit board. A tape-interface was sold separately, but you had to build the case. The Apple I's initial cost was $666.66

Mac OS X Snow Leopard Resmi Dirilis

Setelah menjadi topik hangat selama berminggu-minggu, akhirnya Apple meluncurkan secara resmi Mac OS X 10.6 alias Snow Leopard. Seperti dikutip VIVAnews dari Information Week, Sabtu 29 Agustus 2009, pada hari Jumat waktu setempat, Apple secara resmi melempar Snow Leopard ke pasar. Sistem operasi terbaru tersebut dapat diperoleh melalui Apple Store dan agen penjual retail online terpilih, seperti Amazon dan beberapa agen lainnya.

Pada Snow Leopard, Apple menyematkan sejumlah fitur baru di dalam lingkungan Mac yang belum pernah ada di sistem operasi sebelumnya, termasuk Finder versi 64-bit, Mail, iCal, iChat, dan browser Web Safari terbaru.

Tak hanya itu, Snow Leopard juga menyajikan teknologi multithreading baru yang bernama Grand Central Dispatch. Teknologi yang sudah familiar bagi kalangan gamers dan beberapa penikmat grafis ini, menyuguhkan kekuatan maksimal untuk proses grafis dan penanganan kinerja sistem yang berat.

Bagi pelanggan korporat, Snow Leopard menghadirkan Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 yang sudah built-in. Dengan fitur ini, Apple berharap dapat memperbesar pangsa pasarnya, terutama di segmen enterprise dan UKM.

Sebelum diluncurkan, Amazon bahkan sempat mengurangi harga penujualan retail Snow Leopard sekitar 14 persen, dari US$29 atau setara 290 ribu rupiah menjadi US$ 25 atau setara 250 ribu rupiah. Hingga kini, belum ada keterangan resmi lebih lanjut terkait penjualan Snow Leopard di Indonesia, baik harga maupun ketersediaannya.

SAN FRANCISCO - Apple memperkenalkan Mac OS X Snow Leopard, versi terbaru dari sebuah inovasi Mac. Snow Leopard diciptakan dari inovasi OS X selama bertahun-tahun dan sukses dengan ratusan perbaikan.

Sebuah Dock dengan integrasi Exposé; Safari 4 dalam versi 64-bit yang mendorong performa dari mesin Nitro JavaScript sampai dengan 50 persen dan kebal terhadap crashes yang diakibatkan oleh plug-ins.

Snow Leopard juga melingkupi QuickTime®X yang terbaru, dengan alat pemutar yang dirancang ulang sehingga dapat lebih dilihat oleh pengguna, merapikan dan membagikan video ke YouTube, MobileMe ataupun iTunes.
